Happy Chaos - Ovulating at Work
It has already been three weeks since I started sharing my menstrual cycle tracking journey. Here are some thoughts I had before starting, which turned out to be completely wrong:
It will be easier to post during my ovulatory phase than when bleeding
I will get very stressed from the pressure to post every day
The truth is, tracking the last week was the hardest so far. But in general I have found the process to be quite fun and leading to so many new insights.
This past week was my "summer" phase—the ovulatory phase—where chaos met happiness, both in my work and personal life. It’s been a while since I’ve felt the power of “summer” as much as I did this month. Here you find my reflections:
🚀 The Power:
Hyper focus: Laser-sharp concentration
Working long days by choice, not because I have to
Effortless project switching
Achieving major milestones across multiple projects
🌪️ The Challenge:
Forgetting to pause, leading to some anxiety and feelings of overwhelm
Happily double booking plans amidst the chaos
Now I'm stepping into the final phase—the pre-menstrual, the "Autumn," the luteal phase. It excites me, but I understand it can be scary for many. Curious to see what comes up!
This also means that I will be bleeding during Christmas time (OMG). That reality has made me feel overwhelmed already. But I prepared and am ready.
I recorded a podcast episode on this together with Barbara from
. We give tips on how to create your self-care menu for Christmas times, from both a cycle and nutrition perspective. You can listen to it here!Looking forward to continue this ‘Bloody Practical’ journey next year! Wishing everyone a wonderful last couple weeks of the year. And if you want to share this newsletter to someone else as a Christmas gift? I would be forever grateful ;)
